Beauty companies are always adapting to meet the challenges of a constantly evolving world—and as a result, the industry is always witnessing significant leadership changes. Guidance from CEOs has allowed the beauty and personal care industry to grow and expand.

Beauty Packaging has compiled a list of the latest beauty and personal care company’s new CEO and presidential appointments:
 

Beautycounter | Gregg Renfrew

In January Beautycounter reinstated Gregg Renfrew as CEO of the company.  Renfrew launched the company in 2017 and stepped down in 2022. As of February 1, 2024, Renfrew resumed her role as CEO. 
 

L’Occitane Group | Laurent Marteau

Laurent Marteau has been appointed the new L’Occitane Group CEO. He replaced André J Hoffmann, and his new position will combine the responsibilities of CEO and Group MD in one role. 
 

Beautynova | Cory Couts

Beautynova named Cory Couts president of the North American division of the company. Couts will lead Beautynova’s expansion in the U.S. and Canada and report directly to the Group’s CEO Stefano Banfo.
  

Merit Beauty | Philippe Pinatel

Philippe Pinatel has been appointed as Merit Beauty’s newest CEO. Pinatel holds 25 years of experience in the beauty industry, most recently serving as Global President of MAC Cosmetics from 2020 to 2024. 
 

Rhode | Nick Vlahos

Hailey Bieber’s skincare brand Rhode has named Nick Vlahos CEO. Before this appointment, Vlahos served as CEO of The Honest Company where he led the brand through its initial public offering. 
 

Armani Beauty | Richard Pinabel

Richard Pinable has been appointed brand president of Armani Beauty. Pinabel most recently served in L’Oréal’s Luxe division and served as Lancôme’s Global Deputy GM.
 

Supergoop! | Lisa Sequino

JLo Beauty co-founder and former CEO, Lisa Sequino has been appointed CEO of Supergoop!. Sequino’s appointment follows significant global expansion across more than 20 new markets in 2023.
 

Florasis | Gabby Chen

C-beauty color cosmetics brand, Florasis has appointed Gabby Chen as president of Global Expansion. Chen will lead company growth as Florasis plans to develop a flagship store in Japan, enter the Middle Eastern and European markets as well as expand its e-commerce presence.
 

Pacifica Beauty | Andres Sosa 

Pacifica Beauty appointed Andres Sosa as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). He joins the company with over 25 years of experience in global marketing, strategy and retail experience. 
 

ZO Skin Health | Justin Skala

ZO Skin Health has named Justin Skala the new CEO. Skala brings over 35 years of leadership experience having been previously tenured at Colgate-Palmolive, Inc.
 

BeautyHealth | Marla Beck

Bluemercury founder and former CEO, Marla Beck has been appointed CEO of BeautyHealth. She was named interim CEO in November of 2023 and now remains as permanent CEO as well as serves on the board of directors. 
 

Sephora, Greater China | Xia Ding

Sephora has appointed Xia Ding as the Managing Director of Greater China and will lead Sephora’s business in Hong Kong SAR and in Mainland China.
 

L’Oréal USA | Silvia Galfo

Silvia Galfo has been promoted to President of L’Oréal USA’s Luxe Division. Galfo previously served in key leadership roles at L’Oréal including Senior VP of Marketing for Lancôme and General Manager of Armani Beauty. 
 

Kering Beauté | Alexandre Choueiri 

Former L’Oréal exec, Alexandre Choueiri is named President and CEO of Kering Beauté for Americas. Choueiri spent two decades serving in various management positions for L’Oréal’s Luxe Division. 

 

Herbivore Botanicals | Britany LeBlanc

“Clean” skincare brand, Herbivore Botanicals has named former Supergoop! Chief Marketing Officer, Britany LeBlanc as CEO to help expand the brand in the prestige skincare market.
 

Olaplex | Catherine Dunleavy & Katie Gohman

Haircare brand, Olaplex has appointed Catherine Dunleavy as Chief Operating Officer, and Katie Gohman as Chief Financial Officer. Together they hope to strengthen the company, building company strategies and expanding brand awareness. 
 

Skylar | Alex Alston

Alex Alston joined Skylar Clean Beauty as Vice President. He previously served at Rose Inc. and helped collaborate with Ariana Grande to launch and build r.e.m. beauty.
 

Shiseido | Kentaro Fujiwara

Kentaro Fujiwara has been appointed CEO of Shiseido. He will resume his position on January 1, 2025, following the retirement of Masahiko Uotani.
 

Estée Lauder Companies | Rashida La Lande

The Estée Lauder Companies has appointed Rashida La Lande as Executive Vice President and General Counsel, effective August 19, 2024. She will also join the Company’s Executive Leadership Team. 


MAC Cosmetics | Emily Bromfield 

MAC Cosmetics appointed Emily Bromfield as the new Senior Vice President of Global Marketing. In this role, she will report directly to SVP, Global General Manager MAC Cosmetics, Aïda Moudachirou-Rébois. 
 

Amorepacific | Giovanni Valentini

In June, Amorepacific appointed Giovanni Valentini as CEO of North America. Valentini is an industry veteran with experience at L’Oréal and Unilever. At Amorepacific, he’ll work to strengthen the region’s organizational structure, optimize operations, and champion the business objectives of Laneige, Innisfree, and Sulwhasoo, as well as new-to-market brands. He will also have global brand holder responsibility for the U.S.-based brand Tata Harper Skincare, which was acquired by Amorepacific in 2022.


Chanel | Simona Cattaneo

Simona Cattaneo has been named the new President of Fragrance and Beauty at Chanel. She succeeds Anne Kirby who is slated to retire at the end of 2024. Cattaneo most notably served at Coty for five years, and recently served at Tod’s Group. 
 

Ipsy | Galen C. Smith

Ipsy has appointed Galen C. Smith as the new CEO, effective immediately. Smith brings over two decades of experience to help strengthen Ipsy as a leader and innovator in the beauty industry. 
 

Skinfix | Stuart Leitch

Previous Olaplex executive Stuart Leitch has been appointed CEO of skincare brand Skinfix. He joins Founder Amy Gordinier and private equity firm Stride Consumer Partners to help expand the company in its next phase of growth. 
 

Sephora | Delphine Herve

Sephora has promoted Delphine Herve to CFO of the North American division. She succeeds Christophe Le Boterff, who is set to retire in April 2025.
 

Noyz | Malena Higuera 

Beach House Group has named former L’Oréal executive Malena Higuera as CEO of its beauty incubator fragrance startup brand, Noyz. 
 

Formulary 55 | Kecia Hielscher 

Luxury fragrance company Formulary 55 welcomed Kecia Hielscher as its new owner, CEO, and Creative Director. Under Hielscher’s leadership, the company will continue to offer the product portfolio it is known for while continuing to elevate and innovate.
 

L’Oréal U.S. | Dave Kersey 

L’Oréal has appointed Dave Kersey as Senior Vice President of Media in the United States. In this role, Dave will report to the Chief Digital & Marketing Officer for the United States, Han Wen.
 

Estée Lauder Companies N.A. | Tara Simon & Amber English 

Current ELC Group President of North America, Mark Loomis, has announced his intention to retire. As of January 2025, Tara Simon has been appointed President, of North America, and Amber English, will assume the role of President, Digital and Online, North America.
 

THG Brands | Amy Fisher 

THG has appointed Amy Fisher as CEO of Beauty Brands. Fisher will report to the CEO of the company, Lucy Gorman. Before THG Fisher served at Estée Lauder Companies, L’Oréal, Stila Cosmetics, Ralph Lauren, and Elizabeth Arden. 


Ellen MacArthur Foundation | Jonquil Hackenberg 

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation has appointed Jonquil Hackenberg as its new CEO. Hackenberg assumes her position on November 4, 2024, taking over from Andrew Morlet, who announced his intention to move on from the Foundation earlier this year.
 

Gucci | Stefano Cantino

Kering has appointed Stefano Cantino as CEO of Gucci, reporting to Francesca Bellettini, Deputy CEO of Kering in charge of Brand Development. Cantino succeeds Jean-François Palus.


Revlon | Michelle Peluso

Revlon has appointed Michelle A. Peluso as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 4. Elizabeth A. Smith, who has been serving as interim CEO and Executive Chair of the Board since August 2023, will continue in her role as Executive Chair.
 

Too Faced | Somer Tejwani 

ELC has promoted Somer Tejwani to Senior Vice President and Global Manager of Too Faced. She has been with the brand for 12 years. This is in preparation for Fabrizio Freda’s retirement.
 

Glamglow & Smashbox Cosmetics | Michelle Shigemasa 

Michelle Shigemasa has been appointed SVP and Global General Manager of Glamglow and Smashbox Cosmetics. She is an ex-Unilever Prestige executive and has years of experience as CEO of beauty brands. 
 

Arbonne | Lori Burgher 

Arbonne International has named Lori Burgher Chief Marketing & Growth Officer. She has over 25 years of experience and will lead marketing strategies to increase customer engagement.
 

Performance Beauty Group | JuE Wong 

Beauty industry veteran and previous Olaplex CEO, JuE Wong has been appointed CEO of Performance Beauty Group (PBG), effective immediately. She succeeds Michael Dewey, who led the company for four years.
 

Estée Lauder Companies | Stéphane de La Faverie 

Stéphane de La Faverie will succeed Fabrizio Freda as the new president and CEO of Estée Lauder Companies. de La Faverie will assume the role on January 1, 2025. He also joins the Board of Directors. 
 

Dieux | Ryan Scott

Dieux skincare brand has appointed Ryan Scott as its new Chief Executive Officer. Scott was formerly the President and Chief People Officer at Tatcha. Former CEO of Dieux, Charlotte Palermino, will be stepping in as the brand’s first Chief Brand Officer. 
 

Kenvue | Andrew Stanleick

Kenvue appointed Andrew Stanleick the President of Skin Health & Beauty for North America and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He will lead the strategic direction of Neutrogena, Aveeno, and OGX. He previously served at the BeautyHealth Company and Coty.
